West Bay

Despite its proximity to trendy and touristy Seven Mile Beach, West Bay distinguishes itself as true Caribbean community perhaps due to both being the smallest district in physical size in the Cayman Islands and the 2nd most densely populated one.

But like Seven Mile Beach, West Bay also has an extraordinary coastline which varies from iron shore protruding out into the deep blue ocean and perfect for diving, to long stretches of sandy beaches that you can ride horseback.

West Bayer's, as the local population is called, are very friendly people who are welcoming and accommodating to tourists and as we're sure you will come to notice, are an integral part of the tourist experience.

The fact is, there are many West Bayer's involved in the tourism industry by being employed at a hotel or through owning businesses in bus transportation, Sting Ray City tours and deep sea fishing charters.

West Bay is also home to most of the major tourist attractions such as the Boatswain Beach and Dolphin Cove.

Don't forget hidden gems such as the fishing village of Morgan's Harbour and the long stretches of undeveloped coastline in Barker's National Park for when you want to escape the tourist traps.

Vacation rental options range from bed and breakfast homes like Shangri-La, the Cotton Tree, a luxury beachfront vacation villa boutique resort or a few vacation rental homes and condos.
